THE LIGHT THE DARKNESS AND EVERYTHING BETWEEN (A DISPATCH FROM WASHINGTON SQUARE DINER)

Writer: Nadeem Gibran SalaamNadeem Gibran Salaam

It’s foolish to abandon community, family, and connection via the passive and vicarious. Everywhere we look, we see people who do not see others, while diluted forms of simulacrum replace our social institutions. We’ve got to be active in our souls and relationships and use the tools, not allow them to use and replace us as they are designed to do.

We are the batteries of modern technology. Are we a tool to be used? Or divine beings on earth? Kevin Kelly maintains, “We are the reproductive organs of technology.” While Walker Percy states, “The peculiar predicament of the present-day self surely came to pass as a consequence of the disappointment of the high expectations of the self as it entered the age of science and technology.” He describes the failures of our love of technology to usher in the utopia on earth we hoped for, stating, “Dazzled by the overwhelming credentials of science, the beauty, and elegance of the scientific method, the triumph of modern medicine over physical ailments, and the technologicaltransformation of the very world itself, the self finds itself in the end disappointed by the failure of science and technique in those very sectors of life which had been its main source of ordinary satisfaction in past ages.”

So here is the light. Each family and society can benefit from people becoming self-integrated. Even in peacetime, taking care of one’s lot is good business. Maintain an internal compass on the voyage of life so you can fulfill your potential. Access your spiritual life and avoid living a life of empty pursuits. A deeper, more meaningful life will transcend us from the possession of our unconscious indoctrination and residue.

"Political life abuses the citizen’s right to exist as different consciousness. It enforces the dominant power narrative to control the population and enforce an army of conformists."

So here is the dark. The monuments we build in the collective psyche are not images of collective good, cognizant of man's temporality. They are the most incredulous monuments to the will of power over others.

Nihilists grow weary and move on to the next thing to feed this beast because the beast doesn’t eat to satiate. It acts like the dark abyss of nowhere bound; it cannot be satisfied. In this Techno-era, the idea of the soul has fallen. We are in love with ourselves and the technology we love is a false mirror.

But what is an idea that ceases to exist? It’s the archetype, and what archetype is longer journaled along human history other than the soul? It is the grand door we came from, and we all must return to. When we witness the birth of a child open its eyes or the eyelids draped down over the eyes of a dearly departed, we are standing at the very crossroads of our temporality. In my work, I establish the following: respect the right of different consciousness to exist. As a social code, it’s the best measure we can put into place to ease the tides of torrents of Shadow projection, an era of the day where we are under daily assault from amplified collective projection.

Everywhere you look, friendships are severed, families torn apart, bystanders harassed, or worse. Political life abuses the citizen’s right to exist as different consciousness. It enforces the dominant power narrative to control the population and enforce an army of conformists. A major divestment has to be made from the tyranny of Government & Big Tech thought control.

We can change this entirely by simply not exposing our children to it. Let them play, read, explore, and be challenged— real-life skills, real food, and strengthening the family experience around life. Children will learn to commune with their silent selves in nature, using their hands and silencing their monkey minds. Dopamine should be a commodity! This bond to the spiritual body is the backbone of anti-conformity.

Akira Kurosawa echoes the fissure of technology on the natural world and our nature, stating, “People today have forgotten they’re really just a part of nature. Yet, they destroy the nature on which our lives depend. They always think they can make something better. Especially scientists. They may be smart, but most don’t understand the heart of nature. They only invent things that, in the end, make people unhappy. Yet they’re so proud of their inventions. What’s worse, most people are, too. They view them as if they were miracles. They worship them. They don’t know it, but they’re losing nature. They don’t see that they’re going to perish. The most important things for human beings are clean air and clean water.”

You have read an excerpt of Nadeem Gibran Salaam's book The God Punk Revelations, which features "New York City moments of punk rock youth looming in the shadow of the Iraq War, which also marked the end of the CBGB era. This collection of essays from author Nadeem Gibran Salaam decant the reader into the very quicksilver times that are expressed in his realizations on consciousness, transcendentalism, and technology."
